The new map design and effects are awesome, I'm really enjoying what Gravity is doing.

Fairies and giants? I knew it! Finally, they're taking full advantage of Norse mythology! I really hope they add something using dwarves and fire giants.

Nixam wrote on February 17, 2009

All of that are beautiful.

Hum, Spiral Pierce is buffed?

McKuro wrote on February 17, 2009

I care what people think of RO, that was then and this is now! Haven't won the MMO polls Gravity is going to attract many online gamers with this. Hopefully they'll add new classes with this splendid piece of work. Thank you, Doddler~

@Nixam:the only thing i remember, is that now Weapon Weight don't add dmg to Spiral Pierce

Seems like encoding quality has improved a lot! Well done ;) .

Yilx wrote on February 17, 2009

I assume Midgard is trying to bring together the fairies and giants that are at war?

Hex wrote on February 18, 2009

Using Clashing Spiral with a two handed sword °O°?! what's that?

Awesome video, really looking forward to the new maps :) . Thanks Doddler!

LimitLine wrote on February 18, 2009

@Yilx, are they in war? Lol I'm so outdated x_x

To tell the truth this is the first time I see some official info on this New World. Does the continent actually have a name? The continent itself, not the camp o_0

Either way, thanks a lot Doddler, the video was amazing! And this new world is so freaking awesome! \o/

Doddler wrote on February 18, 2009

I might be mistaken, but the new land is called 'Jotunheim'. In norse mythology, that is the land of the giants, and one of the 9 worlds. Currently, RO had 3 of the 9 worlds available... Midgard, Niflheim, and Jotunheim.

The Faries and Giants do appear at war, or at very least on rather poor terms with each other. Previously, gravity suggested that the two factions may play out in a new faction pvp system, but those ideas have yet to appear currently in game.

the fairy land seems so Rose Online to me. *¬*

Ixis wrote on February 18, 2009

Oh, I thought the place with the elves would be Alfheim, even though it seemed that Geffenia might've been instead.

Thank you for sharing this, Doddler!

LimitLine wrote on February 18, 2009

Thanks Doddler ^^

I mean, the reason why I was wondering wether they were on war is because there is a Loading Screen that shows humans, the fairies and the giants in more of a happy scene, which is why I thought it was wierd for the fairies and the giant to be enemies.

Either way, as I said previously, the video is just great, it really shows a lot on what the new world is like. I am also curious about that mineral you "found" in the Manuk fields, with the progress bar and then you got that stone thing. Did you figure out what it was for?

Gutche wrote on February 18, 2009

Truly Magnificent!!!

Thank You Doddler For The Recent Updates...

Zeio wrote on February 19, 2009

The music and the maps are reminds me of Seiken Densetzu 3.
RO is improving faster than it seems.

Kirano wrote on February 19, 2009

Nice video. =) Really liked the first real view on Jotunheim. No screenshots, sprites, mapviews, but an actual tour.

LimitLine: According to what's been posted at iROWiki, they give minerals such as the weak elemental stones.

AK wrote on February 20, 2009

Haha how do they expect you to fight those fairies while listening to such a festive bgm!

LimitLine wrote on February 20, 2009

Good question; That's why I was so curious on why they are fighting when everything seems so calm and peaceful. And by the way, are those real korean characters, or are the Giants/Fairies speaking a fake language like the people of Umbala?

Doddler wrote on February 20, 2009

The languages are fake... I imagine like umballa you'll have to do a little research before you can speak to the members of either tribe. I found one giant that could speak korean and started a new quest, but unfortunately neither the fake language or korean are any different to me. :p
