On Euro Valk is killed whit Steelbody Champs whit GTB and Ghosty(imo) + Devo

Its not possible to do it whit icewall etc cuz there is always Competition. The 3 Big allys on Euro are killing her more or less Perm

I think the point he's trying to make is that the average RO player can't kill them the way they are. Sure if everyone had megs, GRs, and GTBs we'd all be able to kill them too...

From what I understand, they were trying to avoid using those items in the test?

As some ppl told already, on euRO, we never trapped the valk and the killing time is around 5min after the spawn (sometimes 20-30s aftet the 1st azura with all buff and well placed team). GTB/Holy champ in steel body under devo and spam SW; the killer try to get sp song and gospel sp buff to make more than 1m damage on a lexed azura. Earthquake is not a big deal for the killer when he wear a gtb, pulstrike is taken by the devo. Support team can survive easily to an earthquake (gr, ranged stuff, using whites) and used to pneuma themselves.

Some people are too simple-minded for reading his complete post including the strategy, stating clearly he was trying to simulate a Valkyrie kill with NORMAL gears, not including Ghostrings and GTBs.

Good job Doddler, but could you go more specific on the Anti-Trap fixes? I understood there were two of those changes, Spear Boomerang (probably in Idle/Attack, like the LKs in Bio3) and disabling the Heal of the Valkyrie Slaves when attacking. That's far from being any serious nerf though, Pneuma would take care of the Spear boomerangs easily... Earthquake on Idle would solve the problem in my opinion. xD

I fear for the fate of the major population of non~hardcore gamers that won't be able to access such epic boss fights and that would mean more frustration on players of average category.

The Ragnarok Online community needs features that draw people in and increase population but i think tweaking MVP monsters to nigh-impossible difficulty is a kind of attraction nonetheless.

Nerfing them does mean that trap-killing becomes less interesting, at which point it MIGHT be possible to convince them to weaken Earthquake a tiny bit.

But yeah, I was shocked by everyone saying "oh, you can take him with an MvP card and several miniboss cards". Okay, thank you. Now what about the other 95% of the community?

Oh, risk of Earthquake on idle is quite big. You could get hit by it without having the entire party around. Imagine you're looking for the MvP, find her, and boom you're dead and so is half the party.

Hmm... Here I can see the difference between iRO and euRO. I didn't wanted to offense ppl there, but fact is we don't have the same overview of the game. On euRO Chaos server, Woe rules a big ammount of players who just play the game for that. Valk drops are the better stuff you can have in siege and as the high level guilds want to be on top, they hunt it every spawn, with the guild stuff.
European players are maybe all hardcore (or not) but the competition spirit seems to be at its top. Good or not, that's it.

There is no risk for Earthquake on Idle. The only thing that must be done within the script is to make it "Earthquake on Idle if HP < 60%". Just a suggestion. ;)

You still don't get the point do you? No one said anything about the spirit of competition, Doddler tried to make a STATEMENT about Earthquake being imbalanced for players that have only access to non-MVP/Miniboss cards, thus killing the game fun for the majority of the server. You, however, are talking about something completely different.

Not everyone have decent or better yet anti~MvP equipment. I'm referring to 90 to 95 percent of the population. Boss fights should not be limited to players with God~like equips. Tweaking the game mechanics of battling MvP monsters to "even" the balance against players with God~like equips is an injustice to rest of the community.

As much as possible, GMs don't want God~like players discriminating average players that make up the bulk of the population and saying some things like, "OMG! N00b! You are not worthy to play with the big boys... you won't catch up to my MvPing skills with that cheap equipment! Haha!"

Now that is just one way to discourage new players and keep playing. Less players playing, less income to [for example] Gravity.

@ Perceval: Are you sure? Because the moment the MVP is injured and people get wiped, it will be nearly-impossible to line up again because even if it's not paying attention to you, it will kill you while you're still gathering or just spotted the MVP again. I'd call that a big risk to Idle-ness.
Now if it was a reply to a rude attack, it would be quite the trap-killer.
