Doddler's RO Journal

Mocha wrote on July 20, 2008

An amazing team effort once again!

Vojo wrote on July 20, 2008

Doddler, since Fire Pillar could be hit from Earthquake do you think it could be used to further spread out the damage to your party?

Doddler wrote on July 20, 2008

I should have corrected, while traps/icewalls 'take' damage from EQ (they don't actually, it just shows damage), they don't count towards reducing the damage.

Guru Clef wrote on July 20, 2008

Ohhhhh man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You use a High Wizard to damage him... I LOVE IT!!!

*_________*

OFF: I love my class

Fake Plastic Trees wrote on July 20, 2008

What about using Deviling Card+Fire Armor+Royal Guard Valk Shield on the tank, he can resist EQ and fireballs at the same time.

Doddler wrote on July 20, 2008

+50% damage from fire attacks with Deviling card isn't a good way to survive any kind of fire attack. o_o

any wrote on July 20, 2008

maybe the developers knew that theres quite a few ghostring and gtb cards on the longer living servers by now, and designed it by those standards.

Chocolate Milk wrote on July 21, 2008

random idiotic question..........can ifrit cast EQ on magnetic earth?..like how hibram cant cast grand cross on magnetic earth?????

Fake Plastic Trees wrote on July 21, 2008

@doddler while using deviling the fire attacks are reduced to the minimum with pasana or lucius armor + 20% resistence of the valk shield, if u know some1 with devilig try it in thors

Terry wrote on July 21, 2008

@Chocolate, ME doesn't work against MvPs anymore if I remember right

Kirano wrote on July 21, 2008

FPT makes an interesting point. Fire Property is like -75% from fire, right? +50% from Deviling, -20% from Valk Shield, leaves you with 55% from fire if calculations work like that, and 50% from normal. Quite the nice combination if the enemy uses Neutral and Fire.

I have a question @_@ wrote on July 21, 2008

at 3:54 why did the tank run around?
I can't seem to get that part
thx in advance @_@

Lozrat wrote on July 21, 2008

The only thing I can suggest is the use of Aqua armor while standing in Deluge so you gain the bonus hit points. Perferably Deluge 5 for the +15% hp combined with whatever hp boosting card. I doubt this will save you though, but it's my best idea that isn't a god item or godly rare. >_<

zeze wrote on July 21, 2008

I was wondering if you used kaupe to dodge the first hit for all party members. Also would it be good to use horn stone buckler for an extra 5% less dmg from large monsters (since most MVP are large). One more thing does defending aura reduce EQ dmg?

Marloe wrote on July 21, 2008

@any: come on. you really think they develop end-game content for 3 people? Trapping mvps is a bug, and EQ taking powerup is ALSO a bug. =p

Terry wrote on July 21, 2008

@Marloe: It's not a bug. It's a feature. ;D

zeze wrote on July 21, 2008

@Terry: If it's a feature than it must be a punishment for not killing the MVP fast enough? /ok

Nato wrote on July 21, 2008

This chocolçate is an idiot.

Acoustic Rhythm + GR card + Valk Shield, 100% fire immunity + 25% from EQ damage.

eyeless wrote on July 21, 2008

What about using MasterSmith as tank? Make him full-fire resist and wear the ghostring armor the same time.

Terry wrote on July 21, 2008

@zeze: Yea, that's the punishment for that! Just a new feature from Gravity! :D

Perceval wrote on July 21, 2008

One question: why did Ifrit use Land Protector only once?

Yue wrote on July 21, 2008

guys, Doddler created this Ifrit run without using godlike-equipment or boss/miniboss cards to prove how feasible it is to access high-MvP monsters for the benefit of the majority of the population who don't have access to the said items. His results will probably affect how the GMs will implement future monster skill patches.

[For example: Excluding Power-Up from the Earthquake damage computation]

FEAR/Daredevil wrote on July 21, 2008

Some of you are not getting the point in here, it is not to prove or demostrate to GM how powerfull, hard to kill on regular gameplay boss monster are now, it is to prove that the infinity tower boss monsters will be very dificult to kill on a 12 man party, doddler already sayd it several times, also, not everyone have access to godly equipment on mostly server, so the idea it is to know HOW The F´k you are going to reach lvl 99 of infinity tower defeating ragdris, beelze and ifrit with a 12 players party....

Now question is... how did this guys http://youtube.com/watch?v=KE2f21snOCA&feature=related manage to get themself on the floor 100, did they use the jump floor ability with the hardest mvps? or did they realy defeated them

FEAR/Daredevil wrote on July 21, 2008

BTW... does Spell Breaker works on boss tipe monsters?

Chocolate Milk wrote on July 21, 2008

@terry thanks..

and now i'm changing my name...and not telling you wut...

Alaskan wrote on July 22, 2008

That's Eskimo Cherry to the far left.

Hi Iris! :>

Ain wrote on July 22, 2008

Well as you can see he has proven its doable.
I rather have them a challenge than too easy.
Chances are that valk and ifrit will become the next eddga if they take out earthquake.

Vaqaas of Iris wrote on July 22, 2008

No Way Alaskan, when are you coming back to Iris?!!?

l2ei wrote on July 22, 2008

Great as always guys, i can't wait till u spank some of the bio mvp's i wonder if you can put an end to the "bio mvps are undoable they're so imba" way of thinking, good luck.

OFF: god when my eyes stop bleeding with the new sprites for the 3rd classes i saw the ones that bara changed, and i must admit i liked pretty much we can only hope for gravity to take them under consideration, well that's all cya~

Storm Gust wrote on July 22, 2008

uhhhh...doddler you know there s a High Priest MVP/boss in endless so you might wanna try head on with that >_>

Kirano wrote on July 23, 2008

@Storm Gust: Uh, what are you talking about? According to the information currently available, next to some normal f2 and f3 mobs, you only have to fight the f2 MvP at the tower.

Storm Gust wrote on July 23, 2008

@Kirano welll i saw the high preist name in blue...and blue mean miniboss red means MVP...soo yeah..

Terry wrote on July 23, 2008

@Storm Gust, yea it's the 'normal' Miniboss HP, she got more HP than the normal Mob, also a bit better in stats, but it's not the MvP

Tommy wrote on July 23, 2008

perhaps EQ is meant to be only survivable by 3rd classes.

joey wrote on July 23, 2008

doddler check your ragnagate mail box please

Kirano wrote on July 23, 2008

@Tommy: Well, Ifrit and Valkyrie only use Earthquake Level 5. Imagine what happens if an MvP takes EQ L10, has a higher attack than Ifrit and uses Powerup. The 24,750 damage Doddler gave would then become twice as much at the least. Now THAT is 3rd-class-only material. =)

Derahel wrote on July 23, 2008

Perhaps 3rd class warlock will be able to use EQ L5...

I was wondering, if traps show us EQ damage but do not help reducing it, could at least one kind of the traps reduce? Such as the Claymore trap or the Blast trap. Since they explode after receiving certain amount of damage

Storm Gust wrote on July 24, 2008

@terry thanks for clearing that up for me ^^

Terry wrote on July 24, 2008

@Storm Gust: Np :D
Yea .. EQ lvl 10 is 5500% Damage.. lvl 5 is 3000%.. so nearly about twice as now Ifrit got..
I mean.. just imagine Ifrit with Power Up and LvL 10 EQ...
Ouch >.<

any wrote on July 24, 2008

@l2ei: "bio mvps are undoable they're so imba"?
afaik bio3 mvps are camped on most big servers

Chocolate Milk = Storm Gust wrote on July 24, 2008

=D

Kirano wrote on July 24, 2008

@any: You mean camped by more than 1 party at the same time, or by a single party? BIG difference between brute force spam-kill and being able to take it on with a single party.

Storm Gust wrote on July 25, 2008

whos ChocolateMilk???????? yes i have read his comments but since then i havent reallly wanted to comment...i'm not him >"<

Sonare wrote on July 25, 2008

well, most big servers do the bio 3 mvps, but mostly due to the use of ice wall, which is (if I remember correctly) deactivated in the endless tower.

BC-PLDN wrote on July 25, 2008

That's where the Goibne's +7-8 Armor Set comes in to play. With a Paladin wearing that, plus 90 or more base VIT, he can reach 30-35k HP I believe. If you have members have those armor set, more can survive. And to again finish the formula, Add in the Battle Chant's HP x2 Buff... easy 50-70K HP on 3-5 Members... You do the math and imagination. HP x2 for 1 whole minute, timer will refresh if in between 10 seconds you get the x2 HP again...

BC-PLDN wrote on July 25, 2008

again, too many High Priests and greatly lacking offensive members...

Doddler wrote on July 25, 2008

Our party composition was:

1 Lord Knight (Tank)
1 Paladin (Sacrifice)
3 High Priest
1 Scholar
1 Minstrel
2 Soul Linker
1 High Wizard
1 Assassin Cross
1 Biochemist

Not sure what you want us to cut out here... I think offensively we had it good. We had about 1m-1.2m damage per minute without engaging the biochemist, with the remaining HP going twice as fast when the biochemist started bombing.

Not sure why people claim we lacked offensive members in this particular run. Sure it was true with Randgris but not so much here. 7.7m HP is a lot to drop. The fight doesn't really start anyways until he's down to 1.5m HP and uses Power Up. Our problem of wiping every 20 seconds after Power Up wouldn't be magically solved with higher damage output. The party composition was built around somehow surviving EQ, something that didn't work quite as well as intended (due to mostly the linkers being unable to keep Kaupe up). Still, a modified party setup probably wouldn't make it any easier to live...

Storm Gust wrote on July 26, 2008

@BC-PLDN i remember a quote somewhere saying " a priest die the WHOLE party dies" so if you think 3 high priests are aready too much than have fun DIEING

Kniff wrote on July 26, 2008

Have you tried to asura him at arround 21% with full buff?
Theorically you can kill him that way without having to see Power Up.
I'm pretty sure you can lauch a 1.6m Asura with Gospel, Service for You and some other buffs^^.

Castello wrote on July 28, 2008

well, at least that had an awesome soundtrack

Tychon wrote on August 4, 2008

We could have had a sniper or champ or something to supplement the damage, but at the same note we werent kauped as often as we could have been because blinding mist blocked it and I think Alaskan was using 2 linkers? 1 HP was off screen to rez people as well. So I dont know what class we would drop for another killer.

Shaolin wrote on September 7, 2008

Amazing to see how you took him out with no traps. That EQ definitely did hurt, and I'm really wondering just how it did so much with that full party?

And what music was used for the video! That's awesome! I almost wanna use it in my own vids.

Talvis&Talnis wrote on September 12, 2008

I haven't had many chances to take part in mvping, but I think it's pretty sad that the only way to beat high end bosses without using exploits is to expect to die which in the end requires the use of Kafra shop items like tokens.
One reason why I'm not a big fan of the Kafra shop. Granted ours has very little compared to KRO, but many things from it like tokens, insurance, kafra cards are still almost required to do some of the high level dungeons and bosses.
Something like Infinity tower would be impossible without kafra cards since there's no way you could carry all the equipment you would need. Every floor has monsters with different races/element/size/etc.
This puts those of us who don't have real money to spare at a disadvantage and pretty much excludes us from ever successfully taking part in these events.

Antila wrote on September 21, 2008

You can try to survive Ifrit's EQ by telling to the clown to use Magic Strings and Song of Lutie, since these two skills have a 20 seconds (don't remember exactly) duration after the skill is canceled. With that + equip which increase HP ammount + Sanctuary, It wouldn't be difficult for the party to increase their HP more than 14k (except High Wizard and Soul Linkers)

For example, a Regular High Wizard with only Matyr Card, 40 vit and level 90 may pass 9k of HP, and Soul Linkers Would have their HP around 12k.

Using your own EQ calculator, Doddler, you will see that maybe all the party except the High Wizard could survive the attack with normal equipment (1 alligator per person, one Heavy Stone Buckler and Anti-sniping garment per person, Assumptio, Blind Mist and Kaupe) Only with this the average damage could be like 12.5k, and I'm sure that High Priests could use Long Maces, and almost everyone 2 alligators instead of one.

So... What do you think?

Razz wrote on September 29, 2008

Hello, can you answer perceval question? I'm really interested in that.

"One question: why did Ifrit use Land Protector only once?"

Lmui wrote on October 4, 2008

I'm just wondering about what would happen later when mercs come out. Would the mercenaries affect the earthquake damage? They're supposed to be buffable so the higher level mercs could take some hits off of you guys.
