Is it possible that the damage you are doing to whispers is coming from your Demon Bane skill? At 181 it seems extreme but they could have buffed the skill, and changed it to some form of never miss, def-piercing damage vs demon monsters?

I'm thinking the whisper and noxious damage was probably effected by a change made to ghost property. Atm it's overpowered becuase of attacks that can only do neutral damage and the GR card. Since the renewal is all about leveling the playing field i would think a lot of things like a monster receiving no damage from neutral at ghost 3 and 4 would be nerfed although it seems very buggy. But then again there's a few maps missing and they obviously haven't gotten around to changing where monsters spawn so each map will be at it's own level range and not have random level 90 monsters amidst level 70's.

I know there has to be some negative person for any given update.
Well, today im that perosn. This update says... World of Warcraft all over it.
I play RO, i have a 9x HW, 9x sinX, 9x biochem, 8x pally, 8x scholar, and 3 9x HP.
I play WoW, i have a 70 hunter, 70rogue, 70warlock, and 5xdruid.
I dont want to brag, but also dont flame me im not stupid. This is no Rant on how MMOs (for some stupid reason) cant copy off eachother. Its like any competative buisness, (mcdonalds, coke etc) they use whats popular. But this? this is a total transformation which i think is bad. If someone wants a menalty for fighting lower or higher monsters play wow. If someone wanted a more old school game, not 3d (relatively), not super graphics and just hit skill key, and click space. Also where stats were simple, str = attack, int = magicatk and sp, vit = hp+def, dex = ranged+cast, agi = aspd+flee....thats RO... but WoW, agi gives def and dodge rate (which is what we will turn to?).
I mean what will Ro make next? Many gears droped by MVP are character bound? (aka wow's term: soulbound)
Will these effects apply to characters? So no longer can someone lower lvl can participate in pvp or Woe, because everyone 20+ lvls above them will pwn the 70 and belows as soon as those high lvls walk on screen? IS that the Ro we want? Not me. Wow... if a 70 and a 50 duel... even a 60... they stand no chance vs the 70. Unless the 70 sits there for 30 min and does nothing, or if they 70 takes gears off or something or the 60 is a twink... idk. But In Ro, i have seen countless skilled 8x trans defeat lvl 9x - 99 trans. Will this all go away? I dont really want to have to get my pally to 95 just so he can live 2 hits from a 99... or even a higher level monster. Ro has not been set up like this forever... so when new players start, they will try to level, and gain gears and such and camp monsters and never ever catch up with the already leet. I mean, now you can hunt lower lvl monsters for days for the card... and possibly gain a lvl in the end since you 1 shot them all?... but soon (if this comes) a lvl 70 wont want to hunt that low lvl monster cuz he will get nearly 0 exp. I mean even the color of the monster's name... corrosponding to the color of the monsters lvl in WoW.

I dont like this new style... its a totally different game. I say make it though, just make a new sever if you want it, dont change the old severs.

Oh btw... how could i not mention. many builds will be obsolete. tanks will want agi (def) not just vit. biochems will regret their vit, dex or luk. they will all go str + int for max dmg. wizards skills are altered COMPLETELY, levelings, playing and buils must totally change. Overall, many many characters will but useless... or at least not stand a chance vs their NEW, equally leveled, counterpart.... old bio vs new, new will win. old GC sader vs new (str + int) sader, new will prolly win.
So... who wants to restart their characters? anyone? didnt think so.

I like the lvling system the most so far, but I hate the damage/flee penalty/bonus. I just hope (and it really shouldn't) make itself into pvps or woes.

But hey, it's just the beginning. At least they have good intentions. Let's hope for good results. :)

And free server is a must. Although now i hope they implement it after the renewal.

Sorry if you answered this, but how long did it take to get your 99 monk? I know you had alot of good gears, but I was curious how long it takes with 10x Exp to get to there and if it would be alot quicker to trans w/o the 10x Exp

A-T: It took 2 days to hit 99 at 10x rate, with maybe... 6h/day? I could have done it faster if I had more knowledge of where to level and didn't spend half my time testing stuff.

That's also quite a rant there... what ever your name is. Unfortunately in Korea the state of RO is not good. Other than the free server Baphomet, main servers are dying. And not in the way they're dying on iRO, the server populations range from 150-300 players, well below that of even iRO Iris. The number of game servers they have have dropped from 12 to 4, and even with server merging the population is that low.

Gravity is obliged to attempt to revitalize the game, and Gravity probably rightfully feels that only by fundamentally changing RO do they stand a chance at succeeding in capturing old and new players again. The new content does have similarities with other mainstream MMOs. I wouldn't be surprise if character bound items and changes to bosses did come. But I must stress that the current update makes 'catching up' as you say considerably easier, not the other way around. I understand that people don't want RO to change from its existing formula, but RO has closed down in several countries around the world already, and they are threatened with losing the main Korean servers if they wait too long. If they cannot make RO more appealing, it will simply die. Of course RO will still continue even if the Korean servers were lost entirely, but who knows how long it would last. This isn't a doomsday prophecy... I mean nothing can last forever, and I'm sure that even at the status quo the hardcore fans can carry the game in Korea for a few years to come, but they are faced with this decision of letting the game run its course or attempt to breathe new life back into it. This may arguably not be the best way to do it, but I should stress that beneath the changes, while it plays a little different than I'm used to, the game I am testing right now is still in fact Ragnarok Online.

Yeah character builds will change but I'm pretty certain they'll be allowing players to reset their existing stats before the addition of 3rd jobs. When the game changes to this degree I'm sure they don't have much of a choice.

Hehe... I didn't know that Korean Ragnarok Online is in a dire circumstance. By all means overhaul Ragnarok Online to revitalize their server population. All we can do is just hope and pray how well the RO Renewal Project will stabilize. After all, it's exclusive to Korea for now.

I can't see this happening in pRO though and maybe in iRO too. LevelUpGames is just so effective creating pRO related~events in~game and real life boosting player interest. Unless our local RO management says that they will also adopt the kRO changes, we need not worry... yet.

Feasibility tests and local gaming community opinion will have a major influence on this and of course the management will decide the best course of action. ^^;

I dont know why in KRO it is like that...I guess newer games with better graphics are stealing RO's market share..in pRO, there are already two servers that's for free...one's an old Thor which was supposedly bot-free because of ragnadefender, but was a total disaster after bots outnumbered the human players..With the introduction of the Valkyrie server (a F2P server), pRO was once again on track...as of now, valkyrie boasts an overwhelming 7k population....Renewal system, IMO was really made for 3rd job...Because of the 120 stat cap. How I wish they would properly tweak the stats and the level difference thing. +/-5 levels should be fine, but it wasn't in the case of Doddler's testing. It's weird how DOddler got a 300+ flee, well in fact the items and stats are not that much..Stats should not deviate much from before, i guess..Maybe, increasing the dmg from dex and luk (for meelee) but not nerfing everything....things should still be stat based but with a far more refined formula....its hard, I know, but with proper effort from Gravity, it should be fine...

One thing I observe in pRO, people dont really care about gameplay and imbalances..I dont know why. SinX are ubered with the introduction of Hypermart Weapons (eg, an Infiltrator[1])..Knights are weaker because muramasa sucks with its curse effect....WHat RO must improve whould be the questing! The storyline..People should be able to know RO's story by levelling....With that, RO would be worth playing..And also, please try to improve RO's security...I hate bots.....Private servers can auto ban bots, but why not real servers? Oh I guess my words are already too incoherent...Im so sorry....BTW, Doddler is the best in RO i guess...I missed Roempire....

Reducing low level monster exp gain makes sense. Killing high level monster should reward players, not punish them. Making high level monsters unable to kill low level players due to level difference is borderline retarded, it does not make logical sense.
This just stiffles creativity. I do realize the current system where archers going to thor from lvl 20 is overkill, it is a sign of the player's creativity in beating the system.

Artificial limitations just serves to prove that game designers are failing to design a game that "thinks outside the box". Worse it forces the players to be in one.

That is probably my biggest gripe, other than that I do support the idea renewal patch.
